Resolution Microsoft Office 2007 Error

The Windows Installer service cannot update one or more protected Windows files.

SYMPTOMS

When you install Microsoft Project or Microsoft Office 2007 on a Windows XP-based computer, you may receive an error message similar to one of the following:

 

The Windows Installer service cannot update one or more protected Windows files.

Setup failed. Rolling back changes...

 

 

CAUSE

 

1.     This behavior occurs because the fp4autl.dll file that Setup tries to copy to your hard disk is protected by Windows File Protection. (TESTED)

2.     This behavior occurs because the fpault.dll file that Setup tries to copy to your hard disk is protected by Windows File Protection.

3.     This behavior occurs because the Fpencode.dll file that Setup tries to copy to your hard disk is protected by Windows File Protection.

 

RESOLUTION

1.    This behavior occurs because the fp4autl.dll file that Setup tries to copy to your hard disk is protected by Windows File Protection. (TESTED)

 

 

To resolve this issue, download the fp4autl.dll file from the DllDump. To do this, follow these steps:

1.

Connect to internet and download fp4autl.dll from this link: http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files_new.php/dllfiles/F/fp4autl.dll/4.0.2.7523/download.html.

2.

Copy of the Download file, Locate and right-click the Fp4autl.dll file, and then click Copy.

3.

In Windows Explorer, navigate to and click the following folder:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\40\Bin

4.

Click Paste on the Edit menu.

5.

Click Yes on the message that is displayed in the Confirm File Replace dialog box to confirm that you want to replace the existing file.

6.

Quit Windows Explorer.

7.

Run Microsoft Project or Office Setup.

2.

Start Windows Explorer, and then navigate to the following folder (where drive is the computer's CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive that contains the Microsoft Project or Office CD-ROM):

drive:\i386\FP40EXT.CAB

3.

Extract FP40EXT.CAB and right-click the fpault.dll file, and then click Copy.

4.

In Windows Explorer, navigate to and click the following folder:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\40\Bin

5.

Click Paste on the Edit menu.

6.

Click Yes on the message that is displayed in the Confirm File Replace dialog box to confirm that you want to replace the existing file.

7.

Quit Windows Explorer.

8.

شما بایستی برای برطرف سازی این انگیزه، از روی پرونده fp4autl.dll رونوشت تهیه کرده و بر روی ویندوز خود جایگزینی نمایید.

برای برطرف کردن این مشکل، پرونده fp4autl.dll را از DllDump، بارگیری نمایید. برای انجام آن، از مرحله‌های پایین پیروی کنید:

1.      به اینترنت متصل شوید و پرونده fp4autl.dll را از پیوند روبه‌رو بارگیری نمایید:

2.      پرونده دریافت شده را با تلنگر-راست و گزینش گزینه‌ی Copy را گزینش کنید.

3.      در مرورگر ویندوز، شاخه پایین را بگشایید:

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\40\Bin

4.      گزینه‌ی Paste را در ابزار Edit گزینش نمایید.

5.      دکمه Yes را در صورتیکه پیام محاوره‌ای Confirm File Replace را دیدید، بزنید تا پرونده تازه با پیشین جایگزین گردد.

6.      از مرورگر ویندوز برون روید.

7.      نرم افزار نصب مایکروسافت آفیس 2007 را بگشایید و آغاز به نصب دوباره نمایید.
